Lil'Cholo's Cali Boy Memories Vol. 2

OK folks, here it is...

The much anticipated and long awaited, Lil'Cholo's Cali Boy Memories Vol. 2.

I have to apologize to the crew for taking so long on this one but as I explained to some of them, I'm very busy during football season. What can I say, I love my football plus I have a daughter, a senior in High School and that alone is alot to deal with. She's a smart one and I have to keep up with her and her future. She's got alot to deal with, getting everything ready for college, taking tests, etc...My head is spinning just trying to keep up with her, taking her here and there. Aye, ya, yaye!

Anyhow, In this comp you will find a few of my all time favorite oldies and of course, like in my first comp, they are from my younger days while living in Cali. In those days, cruising to Avocado Lake on Sundays was a weekly event. When not cruising to the Lake, we'd go to Kearney Park just outside of Fresno. Both were the place to be back in the day. We would be Q'ing it up, getting together with the famili and friends, etc... At the Lake it was fishing, playing baseball with whoever gathered around, swimming, or cruising with the homies. At Kearney Park, it was more of the same without any fishing or swimming as there was no lake there. This comp is dedicated to those days where Sundays were the day everybody couldn't wait to arrive.

Those days were cool because you didn't need to go to a car show to see all the beautiful ramflas hopping it and scraping it while cruising around the scene, not to mention the firme hynas all the homies had at their sides, we'd hope they took their carnalitas with them, if y'know what I mean. All the bombitas and trokitas with their two-tone paint jobs were a site to see as well plus the wonderful murals on some of them, the graphics, etc...

Ahhhh, the memories! Anyhow, on this comp you will find some long lost rolas that I had to bring back to the onda here at TVD. One song I fell in love with the very first time I heard it was Patti Drew's "Tell Him". The voice, the emotion, the words, hijole, it just got to you. Another long lost song which I just came across a few months ago by accident was Sun's "I Had a Choice". I had completely forgotten about this song. Boy, was I glad I found it, as soon as I played it, the words were all just there in the back of my mind as if it were back in the days when I would sing along to this song. I was truly amazed at how I never forgot the words of this song. I put this one first to get you in the mood for the rest of the comp. I truly hope you all enjoy this one. One song that is never forgotten but I have grown to enjoy more and more the more I listen to it is Sly, Slick, & Wicked's "Confessin' A Feeling(Live)". I've burned some comps for myself in the past and usually have this one first but decided I'd save the best one for last on this comp. Of course, a few of the songs are well known but they are some of my favs so I had to add them on here as well.

As for the cover on this one and how big the difference is between this one and Vol. 1, well, I started noticing the TVD crew's latest work and became sort of jealous of all their awesome covers and decided I would try to outdo(more like keep up with) my homies on this one. I know it's gonna be hard because some of these guys work hard at what they do and have been doing it for awhile now but I gave it my best, hope you enjoy it as much as you do the songs. The graphics also deal more with the theme of the comp as well. Heck, I think I gave the Eastside Story covers a run for their money. LOL!

Oh well, I hope everyone enjoys this one and be on the lookout for Vol. 3 which will be coming out pretty soon, it will be very similar to this one as far as the theme goes. Bobby, please keep away from this one, it's for the homies that aren't gonna try to make a profit off of it. Feel free to enjoy it like everyone else if you want but keep it off eBay. This one will be without any password protection so first come first serve. I'd also like to welcome DustyRose to the crew. Glad to have you aboard and awesome first comp!
