This is one of Gene's best albums. "The Gene Chandler Situation" came out on the Mercury label. This album is pure late 60's Chicago soul. The album has great songwriting with a mix of both uptempo songs and heartbreaking personal tracks. Some of the outstanding cuts are “Groovy Situation”, “Simply Call It Love”, “Not The Marrying Kind”, “Give Me a Chance”, and “Hey, Little Angel”.
