Boulevard memories

This is my first post. In fact my first attempt at anything like this so my apologies for any imperfections or errors. So many of the posts here are very elegantly and masterfully done and in time I hope to get better.
It is also my first real chance to give back to those who have contributed and shared so much wonderful music here.
I grew up in East Los Angeles, California in the late 50's and 60's and cruised Whittier Boulevard where Fords & Chevys ruled the day. My memories of those days have never faded because of the music which is presented here.
This is a mixed bag of doo wop, Chicano oldies, R&B and soul by artists from the greater Los Angeles area. From Huggy Boy at Dolphins of Hollywood to Art Laboe's requests & dedications to the R&B and soul played on KDAY and KGFJ and is dedicated to oldies lovers everywhere.
Please leave comments.

  1. Conratulations, Guy, on your first post. The first of many I trust. Many of the artists are unfamiliar to me but having listened I am glad to have made their aquaintance...a beautiful blend of doo-wop and early soul. Please keep on enjoying what you are doing, because it comes through on the post. All the best.
