It's time for our trip to the distaff side to hear some lovely ladies of Soul. Only a couple of faster tempo tracks on this one, so it's an opportunity to listen and reflect. Here you'll find some of my perennial favorite femmes whose pedigree is unsurpassed and whose music has sustained me over the years, such as Justine "Baby" Washington, Linda Jones, Ruby Andrews and Laura Lee.
I have a special spot in my soul for Dee Dee Warwick, Dionne's soulful sister, whose "We're Doing Fine" was one of my first ever purchases. Dee Dee sadly passed away last year. And Maxine Brown whom I first saw, heard and loved as a mere RossyKid way back in 1966. There are some lesser known girls on here too, but there is no doubt they maintain the high standards of their better-known sisters. Hope you enjoy this set......let me know!
