Recorded in 1967 on the Dionn label in Mono only, this is the debut album from Brenda and the Tabulations, following on their major hit single "Dry Your Eyes". Mere teenagers when they recorded this album, the group hail from Philadelphia, PA. Brenda Payton's strong vocals belie her youth, while the Tabulations (Maurice Coates, Jimmy Jones, and Eddie Jackson) provide great backup. "Dry Your Eyes" will always be one of my own personal favourites. Listen out also for the beautiful "Stay Together Young Lovers", one of their follow-up singles, and an interesting take on the the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows". Enjoy this classic capture of 60's Soul!
