CHICANO SOUL SAN ANTONIO WESTSIDE SOUND VOL. 3

Another great reminder of the incredible soul scene going on down in Texas during the 60s -- most of which didn't ever make it up to points north, thanks to the Chicano origin of most of the artists! The music here is wonderful -- fragile soul and group harmony that's every bit on a par with the best work coming from both coasts at the same time -- presented in an array of rare singles, most by artists who never got the chance to cut a full LP! As with other titles in this series, the mastering is from vinyl on a number of the tracks -- but the music itself is wonderful, and has a depth that more than makes up for the few crackles and pops you might come across.
