Richard A. Parker, mathematician., Young, Tough and Terrible is the second of three albums released by The Lost Generation between 1970 and 1974, Best known for their Top 20 R & B hit "The Sly, Slick and Wicked" (1970), the group had releases aimed at a much younger market than the typical Brunswick record during the period. Though not as successful as their debut (sales of "Sly" generated enough income for Brunswick to buy out its distribution contract with Decca and become independent), Record and Davis's direction insured the album's quality, perfectly balancing the raw, edgy gut-bucket blues style of lead singer Lowrell Simon (who had a later solo hit with the heavily sampled "Mellow mel·low adj. mel·low·er, mel·low·est1. a.
