Seems like this series just don’t wanna go away!!...This is a first for the sight….the gold edition of SOLOE’S OLDIES….the GOLD STANDARD…if you will. These songs were leftovers of Vol.13….so I figured why not post em up for the soul junkies right??

So dust off those dancing shoes…and get down with Maureen Gray’s “Dancing the strand”….or get in your carucha and cruise to the gangster rola of Shirley & Lee’s rola on track 3. The last two tracks on this comp are a bit different….but is a firme version of “I want to make it with you”…a la reggae….

Those last to songs go out to the main man ROSSYBOY…..and fellow long time follower EUGENE….Hope I surprised you 2 with them Jean Adebambo cuts….her voice is just angelic….

As always…G-MAN blessed me with this cover awhile back….he gave me 3 versions for Vol.13…..as if he knew I would have leftover tracks…lol….good lookin out G-MAN

Volume 7 is here, and what a way to start it off with Ralfi’s version of “Ooh Baby Baby.” Anything Ralfi sings is just gold in my eyes. Billy Stewart makes another appearance on track 12 “Fat boy Can Cry”. Another one that never disappoints. Lenny Williams soulful cut “Cuz I Love You” is just classic. The hidden gem here is track 14, Sun with “ I Had A Choice.” Just a smooth rola to cruise to. Let me know what you think…..Enjoy!!!

Just in time for the weekend comes Vol.4. This volume gots some nice versions of some classics such as Track 1. The Sly, Slick & Wicked take a crack at the song "I'm Still Here" & "You Got The Makings Of A Lover". They do a good job at holding both songs down. You got some nice tracks from Mary Wells and more of the soulful group The Mad Lads. 2 Hidden gems here. First is Track 6. Fat Larry's Bands " Peaceful Journey" is a smooth track to just cruise to, or just lay back with a honey. The next gem is Track 11. Skyy's "When You Touch Me" is a nice love song. Volume 3 of my series starts off with a bang!! The O'jays cut "I'll Be Sweeter Tomorrow" is definetly a classic one to have and following that is the Sly, Slick & Wicked's version of " Love's Gonna Pack Up"...two gangster cuts to start off a cd.
The hidden gem of the series tho...is track 4. The original version of " I Want You 'Round" stars Mary Wells featuring Smokey Robinson. A Combination hard to beat but Kim Weston got the great Marvin Gaye to back her up and knocked the song out.
