Word has it that this 12” EP, “Deep Inside You” is the most expensive Disco soul record ever.
It was one of our listeners, Max, who prompted me to post this set.
And truth to be told, everyone should be introduced to the mighty fusion of hard guitar rock, raw soul and disco beat that is “Love Is A Hurting Thing”. Gloria Ann was originally just plain Gloria Taylor when she was cutting some soulful gems in the Sixties. Husband Walter Whisenhunt was the genius(?) behind the disco extension of the earlier straight soul version of this song. In summary, just amazing.
