SOLOE'S OLDIES VOLUME NINE

This compilation includes 20 hand picked rare and semi-rare soul oldies by co-producer of the album, my EAST L.A. partner Soloe.

Track one of this dynamite comp is from Little Ray Jimenez called "Leave Her Aone." Little Ray had a superb voice and could sing a ballad to rival any stars of his time. His records were issued primarily by small record labels and had a great influence on the local scene. Ray Jimenez never achieved the recognition that equaled his talent unfortunately. At the age of 13 Ray would spend summers with his brother in Los Angelas and attend numerous R&B shows. By the age of 15 Little Ray had moved to L.A. and was performing with the Midniters. Six months later Mr. Jimenez started his own band called Little Ray And The Progressions. From there Ray perfomed with other groups and wrote songs for other artists. Most recently Ray Jimenez was performing with Ray & The Idols. To date Ray has opened up Sanctuary Studios and is starting his own record label.
